A non refundable booking fee of £100 applies.  This secures your chosen date and covers -

  • beautifully converted sage green and timber vintage style horsebox for your event
  • option to customise your drinks menu
  • two friendly bar staff
  • card payment
  • Personalised service to make your day special and your guests happy.


Hire fees do vary with the type and size of your event.  For some events there is no hire fee, please contact us with details of your event so we can give you a personal quote.


You can also hire The Stroppy Mare Team to run your own bar inside.



Yes, a minimum spend will apply.  This is generally between £500 and £750 but may depend on your event and package. If you are having an open bar this is paid in advance.


Yes you can!  You provide the drinks and we will provide the bar and staff.  Dry hire prices depend on your event type and length.  Get in touch and we can work it out with you.


We provide two staff, in uniform for your event.  Additional staff can be arranged if required.  Generally we need a couple of hours to set up but as part of the booking process we will, work with you to make sure everything goes smoothly.


To sell alcohol at a private event or function, a local authority Temporary Events Notice (TEN)  is required.   If you need us to apply for  a TEN we will liaise directly with the local authority on your behalf so you don’t need to worry.  The  cost is £21.


We will work with you to have a drinks menu that meets your needs.  We try to stock local producers where possible. We usually stock;

Bottled lagers and ales

Spirits including gins, vodka, rum and whiskey

Choice of wines including sparkling/ Prosecco

Soft drinks and mixers

Option of tea and coffee

Options on Cocktails and Mocktails, Pimms and mulled wine or hot chocolate in winter


We take care to be as environmentally responsible as we can be.  We will use recycled or compostable materials wherever possible. We encourage guests to refill glasses as single use is no use!


Not necessarily.  Provided we can access the space and it is big enough we can go where you need us. We can also run your own bar inside or use a kitchen/tables. 


Yes we are fully insured with public liability insurance. 


We will try and serve for as long as you want us to, however we are guided by local licensing authorities and venue restriction.  We will discuss this with you in advance.


Our home base is Elmsted, inbetween Ashford and Canterbury, in Kent.   We are willing to travel outside of Kent, within reason, for a good party!  Additional travel costs may apply.  Please give us a call.
